Congratulations to the 14 cheerleaders who competed in the Suburban One League competition on Sunday. WHS has been removed from the competition world for quite a few years now and, therefore, this was the first experience for many members of the team. The girls worked for a little over a month to prepare their routine, whereas other schools had been working on theirs since August. The girls were thrown a curveball when the competition, which was originally set to be on Saturday, was moved to Sunday due to weather. However, the team remained flexible and reworked their schedules to ensure that they would be there. Another twist came our way five minutes before our allotted performance time when we had to alter the routine and add a new stunt. Despite all of the odds that seemed to be against the girls, they delivered a performance that we were all beyond proud of and had so much fun doing it. Their hard work and dedication throughout the season is commendable and they cannot wait until competition season next year!
