Boys Track - Ahmir Johnson to States in High Jump

Out of the three jumping events, Ahmir's weakest is the one that will get him the farthest (at least this year). After ranking nationally indoors in both the long and triple jump, a nagging hamstring injury has kept him from getting any speed down the runway, hampering his success at these events. Turns out his approach to the high jump bar causes less stress which enabled him to tie for third (top 5 automatically make it) and a trip to Shippensburg over Memorial Day weekend.

Liam Davies had a great season over the hurdles and started the weekend with a bang as he ran the top time in round one out of all competitors in a PR 14.62 (ties #7 Wiss all-time). Semi-finals (pouring rain) had him ranked 4th going into the finals. In the finals (still raining), he hit the 7th hurdle and couldn't  recover, finishing in 8th place.

Our other finalist was Rahsheed Wright at 400M. After a 49.93 in the prelims, he had leg problems at the 250 mark and was unable to close in his usual style, finishing in 8th 50.83.
