District One Swimming Championships were held over the weekend.  The Wissahickon girls had many great swims and ended up placing 13th overall.

The 200 Free relay (Katie Sapozhnikov, Jaclyn Staub, Julia Weiss, Carly Zlotnikoff) placed 12th and 400 Free relay (Karis Kim, Julia W., Katie and Carly) placed 10th with both relays qualifying for PIAA State Championships. The 200 Medley (Jaclyn, Julia Ronca, Karis, Becca Valentine) may have finished last but met the goal of breaking 2:00.

Individually, Carly placed 7th in the 200 free and 3rd in the 100 free, qualifying for state championships in both. Katie placed 10th in the 100 fly and 15th in the 500 free, also qualifying for states in both. Karis placed 40th in the 200 free and 23rd in the 200 IM (with a 3 second drop from her seed time). Julia Weiss placed 39th in the 200 free and 21st in the 500 free (coming from behind to win her heat in a personal best).

Additionally, Tess Klugherz placed 7th at the district diving championships held a week earlier and also qualified for state championships!
