Suburban One League power Wissahickon hosted Central League power Conestoga in a PIAA playoff game Thursday night. The winner would take on Lasalle in the first round of states. Wissahickon was all business all night. The Trojans opened up a quick 3-0 lead forcing Conestoga to call a timeout. The first quarter ended 3-1. In the second quarter it was all Wissahickon again as they put up another four goals to make it 7-2 at the half. Conestoga found its rhythm in the 3rd quarter putting up 4 goals of its own to bring the game to 8-6 Trojans after three. Both teams finished with a goal a piece in a hard fought 4th quarter giving the Trojans a 9-7 win in their final home game of the season. The Trojans have been a tough scrappy group all season and were determined to avenge their only home loss of the season and they did just that. Wissahickon was led on offense by senior Jackson Intrieri (Ursinus commit) who finished with 1 goal and 4 assists. Dean Wolfe with 4 goals. Kyle Lehman with 2 goals and 1 assist and Brody Meyers with 2 goals. Matt Fritz (Ohio State commit) finished going 13/19 on faceoffs and senior standout goalie Scott Pfieffer finished with 11 saves. The defense was led by Jake Licata, Quinn Fonash, Ethan Glass, Joey Connolly, EJ Schreiner and Darren Schank.
