The Wissahickon Trojans lost a tough home-opener battle to Abington tonight 51-46.
Abington got out to an early start by making steals and applying a good amount of pressure. Wissahickon had several bad turnovers, and dug themselves a hole, but once settled, they played Abington fairly even through the middle quarters. Entering the fourth quarter down 14, the Trojans made a strong push to get back in the game, and cut the lead to 3 with 1:36 to go, but a Wiss foul and a couple Grasty free throws put the comeback out of reach.
Nico Vacchiano led all scores with 25, and Grasty led Abington with 18.
Wissahickon will play Quakertown at Home Friday in their fan famous "SILENT NIGHT" game.
