In a 56-33 win over visiting Hatboro Horsham Hatters, the Wissahickon Trojans had themselves a night!

To add to the many distractions of the night, it was "Senior Night." The Trojans star player was also 4 points from the 1000-point milestone, and to add to the drama, both teams were sitting one spot out of playoff contention. To steal a line from Jalen Hurts, the Trojans had to focus on "keeping the main thing the main thing." The Trojans needed a win, plain and simple! The trojans used a solid 19-11 second quarter to take a 25-19 lead into the half. The third quarter was a watershed moment. Wissahickon turned up the defense and never looked back using a 21-3 run. Nico Vacchiano scored his 1000th point in the first quarter off of a put back. Every senior scored: Nico Vacchiano, Delmar Taliaferro, Jona Sellenriek, Logan Heibert, Luke Slobotkin, and Logan McCloud. Most of all the Trojans took a big step towards earning a playoff spot with two games to go.

The Trojans will Host Upper Moreland on Thursday, and Lincoln Leadership Academy on Friday.

Side note: Nico Vacchiano became the 10th player to reach 1000 points, and he became the first to join a sibling on the banner. His Brother Dom Vacchiano is a sophomore guard at Immaculata and helps on the Trojan coaching staff. Even more unique, Nico and Dom's father played for Wissahickon under Trojan legend and Big 5 hall of famer Bob Lojewski the first 1000-point scorer at Wissahickon in 1982.
