Dan Keller qualified for the State Wrestling Championships for a 2nd time on Saturday, placing 4th in the Regional Tournament. Dan is the first multiple time State qualifier for Wissahickon since 2003 (Joe Ammendola).

Alex Prieston, Matthew Fritz and Kevin Salmon fell short and thus did not qualify for States. Alex Prieston and Matt Fritz will get another crack at it next year, but unfortunately, Kevin Salmon will not. Kevin was right in the mix on Saturday and one move here or there could have changed his fortunes. In the end, Kevin had a great career and can be very proud of what he accomplished in the sport of wrestling. He battled through two season ending injuries in his career and still ended up with 75 wins. And Kevin led our team this year with 30 wins!

Hopefully I will be reporting some good news from Hershey this week, but for now I'll just say how proud I am of Dan, Alex, Matt & Kevin and all the Wissahickon wrestlers for their hard work, determination and effort this year!
