Girls Varsity Indoor Track Meet of Champions

Several members of the Wissahickon Girls Indoor Track & Field Team traveled to the University of Penn's Ott Center this past Friday February 13th for the Meet of Champions. There were several strong performances during the evening. Berkeley Marcelis placed 1st in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:54.45, ranking her 5th in the state. In addition Ameerah Jones Rines placed second in the long jump with a mark of 18 feet-3 inches putting her at 6th in the State. Finally Kiera Werner placed 6th in the mile in 5:19.16. The team’s next meet with be the State Championships at Penn State on March 1st.
