The Wissahickon girls varsity lacrosse team was in a heated battle with Pennridge and found themselves down 6-4 at halftime. Late in the game still down 8-6 they tied the game at 8, only for Pennridge to score again and go up 9-8. Sophia Chiodo Ortiz tied the game at 9-9 to go into overtime. In the overtime Lexi Hobson caused a key turnover that sparked the Trojans. With 21.3 seconds left in the overtime Sophia Chiodo Ortiz rifled a rocket past the Pennridge goalie who had 18 saves in the game and won the game for the Trojans! The Trojans were led by Sophia Chiodo Ortiz with 4 goals. Quinn Gaffey had 2 goals and 1 assist. Sam Intrieri also added 2 goals and an assist. Kelly Dickson added 1 goal and 2 assists and Abby Degroat added a goal. The defense played lights out in the second half only giving up 3 goals. The defense again was led by Lauren Donofrio, Lexi Hobson, Haley Reed, Naomi Bram and Madeleine Murphy in goal.
