The Wrestling Team traveled to Quakertown on Saturday for the District Championships. We had 8 wrestlers who qualified for this event. The team battled hard throughout the tournament, but unfortunately in the end, no one was able to finish in the top 4 and qualify for the Regional tournament to be held next weekend at Oxford High School. Overall the team placed 14th. The highest individual placers for the Trojans were:

Jr. Charlie Brammer (120) - 5th

Jr. Mark Thompson (285) - 5th

Fr. Matthew Fritz (113) - 6th

Jr. Peter Sweeney (138) - 6th

One good thing is that of the 8 wrestlers who qualified for Districts 6 of them will return next year along with other Varsity wrestlers who were injured and did not participate in the post-season including Co-Captain Brian Fennell, Ben Aon, Billy Bishop and Kevin Salmon. With those wrestlers and others, I am looking forward to rebounding from a very disappointing season next year.

As with every year, you have to say good bye to your Seniors and this year is no exception. This year, we have 3 of the finest individuals I ever had the pleasure to coach. They all were not only very good wrestlers, but in my eyes the epitome of student-athletes...Nick Senderling, Brayden Druger and Jon Keller.

Finally, although we did have a disappointing season on the mats, I am still very proud of my team especially for what they had to endure with all the injuries and other issues. Hopefully next year our fortunes will change.
