UPPER MORELAND HIGH SCHOOL: 17
The Wrestling Team won its 2nd straight league dual meet by defeating Upper Moreland 60-17. This was the first win against Upper Moreland in a league dual meet since 2007!
Outstanding performances were turned in by Seniors, Mark Thompson, who remained undefeated on the year (6-0), with a 6-2 win, Charlie Brammer and Brian Fennell who both recorded falls. And Freshman, Owen Quinn who beat a pretty good Senior from Upper Moreland 9-7.
I was also pleased by the fact that we sent 5 back-up wrestlers onto the mats tonight giving them an opportunity to compete on the Varsity level or simply getting their hands raised by virtue of a forfeit. For a team to be ultimately successful you need depth and our depth showed up tonight.
So now we are 5-2 (2-0 in the league) and we're off to a very good start.
Next up a very tough holiday tournament the Bethlehem Classic at Liberty High School on December 28th and 29th.
