WISSAHICKON 2, PW 3
What a beautiful day for soccer! Under a sunny sky the Trojans faced Plymouth-Whitemarsh in their first league game at home. Wiss went up early (4:48) with a great combination play; Senior/Captain, Alexis Smith had the assist, while Junior, Lieke Black executed the goal. Although leading, Wiss struggled to get their footing allowing PW to even the score in the 10th minute of play. The Trojans rallied quickly, however, turning the intensity up and controlling the majority of the game with reward at minute 29:36 - Smith, with her second assist, fed freshman, Sophia Chido Ortiz as she capitalized on a back door run, chesting the ball into the back of the net to take the lead once more. Despite their hard fought effort PW sent a long ball for a breakaway (39:56) to knot it up right before half.

Wissahickon came out stronger in the second half and with a sense of urgency, pushed PW back on their heels. Sophomore, Anna Schools and Senior/Captain, Sam Comonitski stepped up their play and created more opportunities in the middle and final third. Senior/Captain Victoria Selverian, Sophomores, Brooke Berry, Anna Schools, and Carly Amato continue to show growth and consistency in their everyday play. Credit to both teams as they battled to the very last minute of the game. Unfortunately, for the Trojans, an unruly call in the final minutes led to a goal and a W for PW.

Although the score doesn't show a victory for WISS, each player for Wissahican deserves to be acknowledged for their work ethic. They have shown a massive improvement and desire both technically and tactically. Although our shot percentage did not produce a W, WISS tripled PW’s shots 17 to 5.
