The regular season came to an end this weekend at the American Conference Suburban One League Championships. The Wiss Girls finished third overall behind Upper Dublin and Hatboro Horsham, and had some outstanding swims.
Highlights:
Diving: Two of our divers podiumed: Tess Klugherz WON while Regan Santoro finished third
200 Medley Relay team of Jaclyn Staub, Maddie Johnson, Katie Sapozhnikov and Karis Kim made the podium in 3rd place
200 Free: Katie podiumed with a personal best and 3rd place finish while Julia Weiss also did a personal best in her 4th place finish and both girls earned automatic District One qualifiying times
200 IM: Karis podiumed with Maddie just behind in a personal best time, and both girls earned automatic District One qualifying times.
100 Fly: Katie placed second overall by just 3/100ths of a second while Karis joined her on the podium with her 3rd place finish
100 Free: Maddie dropped a second and narrowly missed the automatic District One qualifying time by 1/10th of a second.
100 Back: Julia W. finished 3rd overall earning her first ever league championships individual podium spot
100 Breast: Julia Ronca dropped nearly 3 seconds to place fourth and get her first ever District One consideration time
400 Free Relay: Maddie, Karis, Julia W. and Katie podiumed in an exciting second place finish where Katie chased down the anchor from the H-H team on the last 50.
Next up is the Last Chance Meet at Upper Dublin HS on Tuesday followed by Districts at LaSalle on 2/27 and 2/28.
