The 2017 PIAA Girls AAA State Championships took place this past Saturday and Sunday. Due to the snow storm earlier in the week, the schedule was changed to a compressed timed finals format .
On day one, Carly Zlotnikoff dropped nearly two seconds in the 200 yard freestyle to finish in 12th place. She smashed her old school record in a time of 1:51.94.
On the second day of competition, Carly once again broke her own school record, this time in the 500 free. She swam a time of 5:00.00 which was good enough for a 9th place finish. In the final event of the day, the 400 free relay, the team of Kelly Wild, Katie Sapozhnikov, Karis Kim and Carly Zlotnikoff dropped over two seconds to move up from 17th to 10th place with a new school record of 3:32.56.
This was a great finish to an excellent season for the Wissahickon swimmers!
