Yesterday, the girls' swim team headed down the road to Springfield for the first away meet of the year. While Wissahickon won eight of the eleven events, Springfield's depth kept thing very close. The Spartans jumped out to the early lead but by the third event, the Trojans had tied it. Then for the next two events the score remained tied. In the 100y Freestyle, Wissahickon pulled ahead and built up a lead of up to 10 points with 3 events remaining. However, Springfield chipped away at the lead and the final relay would determine the winner. While the Spartans won, the Wiss girls placed second and third which was enough to earn an 88-82 win.  

Winners included:

-Maddy Hippensteal who out-touched two Spartans in a very close 100 yard breaststroke race

-Karis Kim in the 200y freestyle (District One Championship Consideration time) and 100y free (D1 Automatic time)

-Katie Sapozhnikov in the 100y butterfly by a mere 3/100ths in touching out her competitor on the final stroke and the 500y free (both D1 Automatic times)

-Carly Zlotnikoff in the 200y IM and 50y free (both D1 Automatic times)

-200 Free Relay which consisted of Julia Weiss, Katie, Karis and Carly
