The Wissahickon Girls Indoor Track Team competed in their fourth DVGTCA meet this past Friday, January 17th. The night started off with an outstanding performance by senior Maddy Hippensteal in the 800 meter run. Maddy placed 1st and ran a personal best time of 2:20.71, more than a second faster than the State Qualifying Standard. In addition, Maddy, along with Laila Cottom, Mila Jovanovic and Julia Keller, ran a personal best time of 1:52.5 in 4x200 meter relay, and qualified for the Meet of Champions. Kasi Brown and Lena Permutter led the way in the field events. Kasi earned medals in both the high jump finishing second place, clearing 5-1 and long jump finishing 6th. Her jump of 16 feet, 7.75 inches was good enough to qualify her for the Meet of Champions. Lena finished 10th place in the pole vault, with a personal best of 8-6, and qualified for the Meet of Champions as well.
